It’s grape season ya’ll!
If you know me, have read this blog or even just read the title of this blog, you know that I am a bit passionate about grapes.
Every fruit has its moment to shine and thrive, and right now it’s all about grapes. They are never more crisp, sweet and juicy than in September, so I’ve been enjoying the ride and indulging in a heftier amount of grapes than usual to take full advantage of my favorite fruit’s favorite time of year.
I describe why I love grapes in the About section of this site. They are not only a delicious snack, they are easy to pack with you while on the go and they don’t make a mess if you want to snack in bed. There have been times when I’ve been sick, and grapes have been the easiest thing to eat while bed-ridden, and I felt more hydrated and energized by just resting and noshing on grapes. It’s also been a surprising comfort food, more soothing than chocolate when I need it most.
There are so many little known health benefits of eating grapes. As a grapes-enthusiast, I feel it’s my duty to share a few.
Amazing health benefits of eating grapes:
- They are nutrient-rich, a good source for vitamin C and K
- They support a healthy immune system
- Grapes help enhance hydration, circulation and healthy blood flow
- They offer anti-aging antioxidants, and can help reduce inflammation in the body (important to fight off SO many diseases and illnesses!)
- Grapes have a natural melatonin that can help you get a good night’s rest
- They can improve heart health
- They aid in digestive health with the combo of fluid and fiber
So right now is a good time to get into grapes. Enjoy them while they are at their peak and reap the health benefits as well.
